U.S.-based law firm focused on employment law, personal injury, and small business legal services. Our mission is to advocate for individuals and businesses through thoughtful, thorough legal work. We're seeking a detail-oriented Legal Research & Writing Assistant to help with high-quality legal drafting and discovery management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct U.S.-based legal research using tools like Google Scholar, CourtListener, or proprietary legal databases
2. Draft legal documents including:
- Demand letters
- Motions and briefs
- Objections
- Deposition notices
- Discovery requests and responses
3. Assist in gathering discovery responses from clients and organizing them properly
4. Proofread legal content for clarity, grammar, and proper citations
5. Collaborate with the attorney to ensure all work meets court and procedural standards
Qualifications:
1+ years of legal writing or paralegal experience (preferably in U.S. law)
Excellent English writing skills (formal, persuasive, and legal tone)
Strong legal research skills
Familiarity with legal citations (e.g., Bluebook or similar standard)
Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines
Bonus: Experience with legal CRMs (e.g., Clio) or automation tools
