About Us:?We are a dynamic and growing hospitality group based in Melbourne, currently operating six unique venues across the city. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding food, beverage, and service experiences, underpinned by strong financial management and operational excellence. As we expand, we are seeking a full-time, experienced Bookkeeper to oversee and coordinate the financial operations of the group.

About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organised Bookkeeper with a strong background in multi-venue or multi-entity financial management. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end financial oversight of all six venues, ensuring accurate reporting, timely reconciliations, and clean audit trails.
This is a senior-level position reporting directly to the Director of the company. You will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making by ensuring the financial health of the group is maintained through accurate and timely bookkeeping practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Full-cycle bookkeeping across six hospitality venues
Accounts Payable (Aged Payables): Processing and scheduling supplier payments, following up on outstanding invoices
Accounts Receivable (Aged Receivables): Ensuring timely customer payments and managing any overdue accounts
Payroll Management: Using Deputy to process payroll accurately and in accordance with award rates and legislative requirements
Supplier Communication: Liaising with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, chase credits, and maintain strong relationships
Invoice Processing: Uploading and managing invoices via Hubdoc, verifying accuracy, allocating to correct accounts
Credit Management: Following up on outstanding credits and ensuring they are applied properly
Bank Reconciliations: Weekly and monthly reconciliations across all business accounts
Intercompany Invoicing & Transfers: Managing internal cross-entity transfers and reconciliations
Weekly & Monthly Reporting: Preparing timely and accurate reports for management and ownership, including P&Ls and venue performance summaries
Budgets & Forecasting: Assisting with building, updating and reviewing venue budgets and cash flow forecasts
Compliance: Assisting with BAS, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, and WorkCover lodgements as required
General Administration: Filing, record-keeping, documentation for audit and compliance
Software Management: Using Xero, Deputy, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft 365 effectively across tasks

Requirements:
Minimum 3+ years experience in a similar senior bookkeeping role
Hospitality industry experience highly regarded (multi-site experience preferred)
Proficient in Xero, Hubdoc, Deputy, Excel, Microsoft Office 365
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Proven ability to manage deadlines and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident speaking to staff, suppliers, and financial institutions
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with leadership and venue teams
Strong understanding of payroll compliance, BAS, GST, and financial reporting
