JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor (Full-Stack) — Long-Term Opportunity
Seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented video editor with storytelling chops and technical expertise.

About the Role:
I’m looking for an experienced video editor to help me craft polished, engaging videos. This isn’t a basic editing gig — I need someone who truly understands narrative flow, pacing, technical editing, and professional project organization inside Premiere Pro.

If you’re the kind of editor who can build a clean, structured project, pull strong selects from interviews and B-roll, and bring stories to life, we’ll work great together.

Requirements:
- Strong storytelling and narrative editing skills
- Expert-level Premiere Pro knowledge
- Ability to organize projects cleanly (bin structure, sequences, naming conventions)
- Skill pulling selects from interview footage and matching with B-roll
- Ability to stabilize footage smoothly when needed
- Ability to properly interpret and conform 60fps footage to 24fps for slow-motion
- Solid color correction skills (full color grading not necessary, but strong correction skills are a must)
- Strong sense of pacing, emotion, and flow
- Clear communicator, organized worker, detail-oriented mindset
- Fast internet connection and reliable computer setup
- Willingness to do a paid test project

Bonus (but not required):
- Experience editing YouTube videos, branded content, or commercial videos
- Knowledge of After Effects for light motion graphics (lower thirds, simple animations)

Details:
- Part-time to start, with potential to grow
- Pay to be discussed based on scope of project, skill level and experience
- 100% remote
- Flexible hours, but must hit deadlines

How to Apply:
Please send:
- A short introduction about yourself and your editing experience
- 3 examples of videos you’ve edited that show your best storytelling, editing, and technical skills
- What you believe makes a great edit (short paragraph)

Important: If you don’t have strong editing and project organization skills, this role won’t be the right fit. I’m looking for an editor I can trust to deliver high-quality work with minimal hand-holding.

Looking forward to seeing your work!

TEST PROJECT (I will pay you for this test project)

Objective:
We want to evaluate your ability to edit a short video that tells a compelling story, demonstrates strong technical skills, and showcases your project organization.

Project Brief:
Raw Footage: You will be provided with a mix of interview footage and B-roll. The interview footage will feature a speaker sharing a personal story or experience. The B-roll will include a mix of relevant shots (landscapes, close-ups, actions, etc.).

Video Length: The final video should be around 60 - 90 seconds long.
Story Focus: Craft the story around the speaker’s narrative, highlighting the most emotional or impactful ---------- nts. Use B-roll to enhance the narrative and avoid just ‘filling the gaps.’

Deliverables:
A fully edited 60-90 second video that:
Follows a clear narrative flow.
Has smooth pacing and transitions.
Uses B-roll to complement the story (not just to fill time).
Is technically clean (good audio levels, stable footage, etc.).
Has basic color correction applied (no need for full grading, just correction for proper balance).

A well-organized project folder:
Clear bin structure in Premiere Pro (or other editing software you prefer).
Proper sequence naming and organization.
Clean timeline with labels and markers where needed.

An explanation (max. 300 words) of your editing choices:
Why you chose specific ---------- nts from the interview to highlight.
How the B-roll supports the narrative.
Any technical challenges you faced and how you overcame them.

Deadline: 3–5 days

Additional Notes:
Focus on delivering a polished, professional result.
This is a paid test

If we d ---------- to proceed with a longer-term contract, you’ll be expected to produce work at a similar level of quality consistently.

How to Submit:
Once completed, please send:
The final video (in .mp4 or .mov format).
The project file (in Premiere Pro)
A folder with your raw footage, audio files, and any other materials you used.
Your explanation of the editing choices (can be in a text file or email)
