JOB OVERVIEW

A well-established medical practice in Manhattan is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting financial operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Process bi-weekly payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Maintain and organize financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payroll documentation.

Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review.

Assist with end-of-month closing procedures and financial audits.

Track employee timecards and manage time-off records.

Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and employee benefits.

Collaborate with external accountants during tax preparation and audits.

Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and expense tracking.

Address any discrepancies in financial records promptly and accurately.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and payroll platforms.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
