Position Overview
The GIS Infield Support Technician plays a vital role in supporting SoilOptix® customers and internal operations through field support, data handling, technical training, and software proficiency. This individual will contribute to both the day-to-day execution of business objectives and the continual improvement of support processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Field Support & Client Engagement
• Provide in-field support to customers during operations and deployments.
• Deliver onboarding training to new clients on equipment usage and standard operating procedures.
• Communicate proactively with clients regarding updated field processes and technical improvements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic power operations within vehicles and systems
• Possess a strong ability to deduce field and client support needs
• Exhibit some electrical knowledge relevant to deployed systems and field equipment
• Show the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and software platforms
• Be technologically inclined with strong problem-solving capabilities

Data Management & GIS Operations
• Compile spatial datasets from GPS inputs, field observations, and environmental monitoring data.
• Use GIS software to interpolate data, edit boundaries, and generate spatial products.
• Prepare graphical reports, maps, charts, and figures using data analysis and visualization tools.
• Assist with pre- and post-processing data inquiries from customers.
• Evaluate GIS models and apply quality control measures to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Collaboration & Communication
• Liaise with colleagues and partners across organizations to share insights and procure necessary datasets.
• Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment to achieve business goals.
• Effectively communicate with clients to understand and address their technical and operational needs.
Skills & Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in GIS software and data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of vehicle power systems and basic field electrical systems.
• Comfortable learning and adapting to new technologies and platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues in the field.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Technologically inclined with an aptitude for diagnosing customer support needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical documentation.
• Ability to prioritize workload and adjust to changing day-to-day tasks as they arise.
Motion Parameters
The employee may be expected to sit at a desk for long hours but optional standing if required is allowable. This position may also require stair climbing, walking, kneeling, and driving.
Psychological Demands
The position will require quick decision making, public speaking, problem solving, read and write, communicate with those with English as 2nd language, interpret data.
