Part-Time SEO Specialist (Ecommerce)

Required: 2 Hours Per Day (option to extend as we progress with success)

About Us
Carpeco has recently launched two exciting skincare brands in the UK: Pure Papaya (natural, eczema-friendly skincare) and Australian Creams (iconic, natural Australian moisturisers). We’re looking for a proactive, data-driven SEO Specialist to help grow our organic traffic and brand presence long term for both of these brands.

Key Responsibilities

Keyword Research & Analysis
Use SE Ranking (it is similar to Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz etc to identify high-potential keywords for both brands.
Analyse competitors and industry trends to inform keyword targeting.
SEO Strategy & Planning
Develop a tailored SEO plan for each store.
Map keywords to specific pages, ensuring each page has a clear ranking focus.
Advise on site structure, navigation, and internal linking for optimal SEO performance.

On-Page Optimisation
Optimise meta titles, descriptions, headings, and content for target keywords.
Ensure product pages, category pages, and blog content are SEO-friendly.
Implement schema markup (Product, Review, FAQ, etc.) where relevant.

Content Strategy & Creation
Plan and execute a content calendar (blog posts, guides, FAQs, etc.) to target informational and transactional keywords.
Use AI tools (we have paid subscriptions to these) to assist with content creation, ensuring all content is unique, valuable, and aligned with brand voice.
Optimise existing content for improved rankings and conversions.

Link Building & Off-Page SEO
Develop and execute a white-hat link-building approach
Monitor and disavow toxic backlinks as needed.

Technical SEO
Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix technical issues (crawl errors, broken links, duplicate content, etc.) Screaming Frog experience is desired.
Work with web developers to improve site speed, mobile usability, and Core Web Vitals.
Ensure sitemaps and robots.txt are correctly configured.

Performance Tracking & Reporting
Set up and monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, and conversions using SE Ranking and Google Analytics.
Provide regular performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.

Additional Ecommerce SEO Responsibilities
Product Feed Optimisation:
Ensure product data is optimised for Google Shopping and other marketplaces.
Image SEO:
Optimise product and lifestyle images with descriptive filenames, alt text, and compression for faster loading.
Review & UGC Strategy:
Leverage customer reviews and user-generated content for SEO and trust-building.
Monitoring Algorithm Updates:
Stay up-to-date with Google algorithm changes and adjust strategies accordingly.

Ideal Candidate
3+ years SEO experience, ideally in ecommerce
Proficient with SEO tools (SE Ranking or similar such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz,. Google Analytics, Search Console, Merchant Feed).
Strong copywriting, English and content optimisation skills.
Experience with Shopify or similar platforms a plus.
Knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals.
Proactive, analytical, and results-driven.
