Shopify + Frontend Developer (Contract / Short-Term, Remote)

Overview:
We are seeking a Shopify Developer / Frontend Developer for a contract role supporting a short-term project. You’ll help build, customise, and optimise Shopify storefronts and themes. The ideal candidate is confident working across Liquid, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and understands modern frontend best practices in the Shopify ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate with our growth, product, and design teams to deliver a high-performing, visually appealing, and conversion-optimised eCommerce experience.

Your Responsibilities:
-Shopify Development
-Customise and develop themes using Liquid, Shopify CLI, and storefront APIs.
-Implement and optimise Shopify Plus features (e.g. custom checkout, scripts).
-Build custom storefront sections and reusable components for a modular experience.

-Frontend Development
-Translate Figma or design mockups into responsive, accessible, high-performance front-end code.
-Use modern JavaScript and CSS methodologies (e.g. ES6+, Tailwind, SCSS).
-Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile-first responsiveness.
-Performance & CRO
-Optimise load times, site speed, and web vitals across devices.
-Implement A/B test variants using tools like Google Optimize, Convert, or similar.
-Collaborate with analytics teams to implement tracking (GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, etc.)

-Collaboration
-Work alongside UI/UX designers, growth strategists, and marketers.
-Communicate effectively on project timelines, blockers, and deliverables.
-Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving internal development processes.

Optional but Valuable:
-Experience working with headless Shopify builds (e.g. Hydrogen, Next.js).
-Familiarity with subscription platforms (Recharge, Bold, etc.)
-Exposure to CRO tools and eCommerce-focused analytics dashboards.

What You’ll Bring:
-Strong experience developing Shopify storefronts, ideally across multiple brands or projects.
-Proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS or Tailwind preferred).
-Solid understanding of technical SEO, performance optimisation, and accessibility.
-Experience integrating third-party APIs and custom apps.
-Familiarity with Git workflows and collaborative codebases.
-Clear communication, attention to detail, and a bias for shipping.
