- Have experience leading small finance teams (5+ people) across accounting and FP&A.
- Enjoy creating financial systems, forecasts, and models that drive business decisions.
- Are confident overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while also thinking strategically.
- Have excellent communication skills and enjoy building client trust through clear, thoughtful updates.
- Are energized by entrepreneurial environments and diverse types of businesses.
- Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
**What You’ll Do**
- Act as a senior finance partner to clients alongside Spencer.
- Oversee and improve client finance operations, including AP, AR, monthly close, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, procurement, and forecasting.
- Manage relationships with external accountants, bookkeepers, and vendors.
- Build and maintain financial models and forecasts (especially in Excel) to support strategic decision-making.
- Review financial statements and reporting packages for accuracy and insights.
- Identify process improvements, implement best practices, and help clients establish scalable financial operations.
- Design KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks for clients.
- Provide light FP&A services: budgeting, variance analysis, cost analysis, and financial planning.
**What You’ll Need**
- 5+ years of finance leadership experience, ideally leading small finance and accounting teams (5+ people).
- Strong hands-on experience with AP/AR, month-end close, financial modeling, and budgeting.
- CPA, CMA, CFA, MBA or similar professional qualifications.
- Proficiency with Excel and building complicated financial models
- Proficiency with accounting software (eg Quickbooks)
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Extremely strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfort operating in early-stage, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environments.
**Nice to Have**
- Exposure to startup or small business finance operations.
- Experience with financial consulting, fractional CFO work, or advisory services.
- Familiarity with AI tools or automation platforms that can improve finance workflows.
- Experience working remotely with distributed teams.
**Work Environment**
- Fully remote position.
- Flexible schedule, with at least **4 hours daily overlap with US Pacific Time business hours** Spencer works (09:00 - 21:00 PT).
- Open to global candidates, with a slight preference for time zones that easily overlap with the US.
- Compensation: **$15–$30/hour** depending on experience.
- Opportunity for meaningful impact, ownership, and learning across multiple industries and client businesses.
