Job Title: Google SEO Specialist & Website Editor/strategizer/builder

Location: Remote
Job Type: Part time or Contract (10 hours/week to start, with potential for growth)

We are seeking an experienced Google SEO Specialist to position our brand at the top of local and national search results. As well as branding website appropriately.

Role Overview:
We need an SEO expert who can rank us on Google for high-intent, high-traffic keywords related to DNA testing, particularly in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and it’s surrounding areas. Your goal is to significantly increase organic traffic, generate qualified leads, and dominate local search visibility. You will also be making the website more easier to navigate and operate with edits

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform an in-depth SEO and identify key opportunities for technical, on-page, and local optimization.
• Develop and implement an SEO strategy targeting local and service-based keywords (e.g., “DNA test near me”, “mobile DNA testing Northern Virginia”, etc.).
• Optimize Google Business Profile for local visibility.
• Create SEO-optimized landing pages for specific services and cities/regions.
• Collaborate on or recommend content creation, such as blog posts and FAQs, that will rank for commonly searched questions around DNA testing.
• Implement backlink strategies to increase domain authority.
• Track performance using Google Search Console, Analytics, and other tools, and provide regular performance reports and improvement plans.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of proven experience in SEO, ideally with local service businesses or in the health/medical diagnostics industry.
• Demonstrated success in ranking websites on the first page of Google for competitive local keywords.
• Deep knowledge of SEO tools: Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, BrightLocal, etc.
• Skilled in both on-page and off-page SEO strategies.
• Excellent understanding of keyword intent, content strategy, and conversion optimization.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to deliver clear reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to recommend and implement schema markup for medical/testing services.
