We are building a Web Tagging Automation MVP to modernize and accelerate the way we conduct UX audits, GA4/GTM tagging audits, and tracking schema creation.
You will be the developer responsible for building a Node.js-based system that automates crawling websites, extracting UX components, detecting GA4/GTM tags, generating tracking schemas, and producing deployable JSON taxonomies — all with AI-assisted support.
This is a builder's role: you will work independently to prototype, test, and deliver a production-ready tool.
Key Responsibilities:
Automated UX Auditing
Build a browser automation crawler using Puppeteer or Playwright.
Crawl live websites, detect common UX components (links, CTAs, forms, accordions, carousels, etc.).
Capture relevant metadata like CSS selectors, DOM types, and page context.
Export structured data to a UX audit template (Excel, JSON).
GA4/GTM Tag Detection
Simulate user interactions to trigger analytics events.
Capture dataLayer pushes, GA4 events, and GTM tag activities.
Use Chrome Debugging Protocol or tools like Omnibug to observe event behavior.
Output populated GA4/GTM Audit templates.
Tracking Schema & JSON Generator
Map detected components to event naming conventions.
Assign event parameters, triggers, and tracking logic based on best practices.
Build a deployable JSON tracking taxonomy (event_name, selector, parameters, source).
AI Integration
Use AI tools (such as AIder or prompt-based copilots) to:
Accelerate Node.js script writing
Generate or validate JSON structures
Translate crawler outputs into clean documentation
Optional UI Development
Create a CLI or lightweight Electron.js app for internal use.
Ensure outputs are easy for analysts and non-developers to use.
