YouTube/Long-Form Video Editor

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a YouTube/Long-Form Video Editor who knows how to tell real, raw, and relatable stories.
Our channel documents Vanlife adventures, Overlanding trips, Stealth camping, and real-world gear testing, mostly in a vlog format — no drones, no fancy cinematics, no over-produced commercials, just honest storytelling that captures the good, the bad, and the hilarious.

If you can turn simple footage using multiple camera angles into an adventure that feels authentic and keeps viewers glued until the end, you might be the one we're looking for.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit Long-Form Vlogs: (8–25 minutes) — turning raw footage into relatable, story-driven episodes (Our goal is to produce 1 video a day until we reach 100 videos and then focus more on quality. Our main goal right now is to get to 100 published videos and as high quality as possible.)

- Highlight Emotions and Chaos: Bring out the humor, drama, and unpredictability in stealth camps and wild adventures.

- Gear Testing Segments: Smoothly integrate gear demos into the travel narrative without making it feel like an ad.

- Audio Sync & Polish: Clean audio mixing, music syncing, and sound effects for a professional feel.

- Create Transition Sequences: (B-roll, nature montages) while keeping the raw authenticity of Vanlife.

- YouTube Optimization: Add engaging intros, outros, lower thirds, maps, text overlays, timestamps, etc.

- Collaborate Creatively: Understand the vibe of our channel and suggest improvements or fresh creative ideas.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Strong understanding of the English language and American culture in order to effectively tell the story of the video.
- 2+ years of YouTube or travel/adventure vlog editing experience.
- Proficiency with video editing software of your choice.
- Strong sense of storytelling — able to build emotional arcs, humor, and suspense from real footage.
- Fast and clean editor — cutting out dead space, enhancing flow, keeping the energy up.
- Basic motion graphics (titles, arrows, simple callouts) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Good ear for music and understanding how background tracks affect mood and pacing.
- Deadline-oriented and organized — able to work with a shared content calendar.

BONUS POINTS
- Experience editing Vanlife, Overlanding, Camping, or Outdoor content.
- Enjoys storytelling from imperfections (we embrace the chaos, not hide it).
- Familiarity with stealth camping, off-grid life, or minimalist travel.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $6 to $12/hour, depending on experience and editing quality, paid weekly via WISE
- Paid Time Off, Paid US Holidays, Christmas Bonus

WORK HOURS
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible schedule: Choose an 8-hour shift between 9 am and 10 pm Central Time.
