JOB OVERVIEW

Our behavioral health company is seeking an experienced medical records quality assurance auditor who can work full-time on electronic health records to ensure compliance and accuracy across our organization.

We employ many Filipinos for various tasks across medical billing, digital marketing, administration, many of whom have worked with us for over 10 years. This is a long-term, steady employment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Chart Audits & Reviews
- Conduct regular, targeted audits of clinical charts to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal protocols and external regulatory requirements.
- Review treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, consents, and discharge summaries for timeliness and documentation standards.

Compliance Monitoring
- Identify discrepancies or deficiencies in documentation and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain familiarity with state, federal, and accreditation body documentation requirements (e.g., DHCS, CARF, Medi-Cal, Medicare).
- Assist in preparing for external audits by regulatory bodies.

Reporting & Communication
- Document audit findings and trends in structured reports and dashboards.
- Present results to clinical leadership, program managers, and the compliance team.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure deficiencies are corrected and best practices are implemented.
- Daily updates and communication by Slack and email required.

Training & Quality Improvement
- Provide feedback and support training initiatives on proper documentation practices.
- Assist in developing documentation guidelines, audit tools, and quality improvement strategies.

Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience with medical records QA/Auditing
- Fluent written and spoken English required.
- Requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills and competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload.
- Work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Previous EMR experience preferred.
- Must have good communication skills
