JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Accountant with strong experience to join our team remotely. We are a US-based accounting and financial consulting firm serving a diverse portfolio of approximately 30 clients, with operations spanning the US and various international locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary duties will include accurately recording and categorizing daily financial transactions, performing regular bank/credit card reconciliations, and managing accounts payable processes such as processing supplier invoices. You will also assist with tracking and recording Value Added Tax (VAT) transactions accurately within the system for our EU/UK clients. Additional responsibilities involve generating standard financial reports (e.g., Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) from QuickBooks Online, maintaining organized digital financial records, liaising with internal tea ---------- mbers for data clarity, and assisting with month-end closing procedures as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- An accounting degree, relevant qualification, or professional certificate demonstrating foundational knowledge is required.
- You need a minimum of 1 year of practical bookkeeping or accounting experience. This experience must go beyond basic data entry and include tasks like reconciliation, journal entries, and basic reporting.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online or Xero within a real business environment is necessary (experience solely with training or example company files is insufficient). Our primary accounting platform is QuickBooks Online, though relevant Xero experience is valuable.
- Experience handling Value Added Tax (VAT), particularly EU or UK VAT, is a strong plus and highly desirable. However, we encourage applications from candidates who lack direct VAT experience but possess a strong aptitude and commitment to learning these specific processes thoroughly and efficiently. Training resources can be provided.
- Given the nature of the role involves handling sensitive financial and company data, demonstrable trustworthiness and a high level of discretion are absolutely essential attributes for any candidate.
