Airbnb Interior Designer & Project Manager - Fixed Project

I’m looking for a smart, creative, and detail-oriented virtual interior designer to help plan a renovation of a romantic 1-bedroom cabin Airbnb in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. You’ll work closely with me (a US-based host) to transform the property into a modern rustic retreat that maximizes visual appeal, guest experience, and revenue.

This role blends interior design coordination, product sourcing, project management, and virtual staging, ideal for someone with a passion for design, STRs (short-term rentals), and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities:
• Use provided photos, description, and mood board direction to help refine the interior design vision
• Research and source furnishings, fixtures, and decor items (primarily on Amazon, Wayfair, IKEA, etc.)
• Enhance mood boards with additional decor choices and design ideas.
• Help stage rooms virtually (using AI or digital tools like Canva, Room Planner, Homestyler, etc.)
• Create a costed-out itemized spreadsheet for furnishings, paint, flooring, labor, and decor
• Coordinate a simple project plan by room and phase (e.g. what to order/assemble/paint first)
• Write simple product briefs and room plans for my cleaner/onsite coordinator to follow
• Assist with occasional admin tasks like email follow-ups or AI prompt writing
• Occasionally contact and work with EST-based contractors to get labor estimates - can be done async by email
• Help organize everything cleanly using Google Sheets / Docs / Drive / Notion

Expected Deliverables
• Expanded mood board with furniture, color, and decor inspiration
• Itemized sourcing spreadsheet with links, prices, and shipping info
• Room-by-room renovation plan with recommended order of tasks
• 6-8 virtual staging mockups (bedroom, living room, and bath or kitchen), organized by room and showing before/afters
• Written setup briefs for onsite helper (assembly, layout, decor notes)
• Organized Notion workspace with all files, plans, and links

Qualifications:
• Expert interior designer with experience working with US-based short-term rental hosts and Airbnb listings
• Must have a project portfolio for similar Airbnb properties including before & afters
• Experience with designing US-based mountain cabin Airbnbs a huge plus
• Familiar with virtual staging tools (using tools like Homestyler, InteriorAI, RoomGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney, etc.)
• Excellent written and spoken English — must be comfortable writing instructions and sourcing summaries
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Familiar with e-commerce product sourcing (Amazon, Wayfair, IKEA USA)
• Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, etc.) to assist with creative workflows. I will provide a ChatGPT plus account you can use
• Bonus: understands photo-first design strategy for Airbnb listings and/or the US rental aesthetic

Project Timeline:
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 20 hours a week for 2 weeks - budget $300 total
