StormCentric is a growing and renewed YouTube channel (20,000+ subscribers) dedicated to real-time storm chasing, tornado tracking, and severe weather documentation. Our mission blends powerful storytelling, scientific curiosity, and disaster assistance.
We’re looking for a skilled, creative, and dependable video editor who can turn raw storm footage into captivating content that brings viewers into the heart of the storm. You’ll collaborate directly with our founder — a veteran storm chaser and nonprofit leader — to edit cinematic storm recaps, short-form clips, and more.
WHAT YOU’LL EDIT
Full-length storm chase recaps (8–20 mins)
YouTube Shorts (highlight reels, radar overlays, storm clips)
Thumbnails or title card templates (optional)
Special footage: 8K video, 360° captures, and synced voiceovers
TOP 3 SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Cinematic Storytelling Through Editing
You can shape an emotional or thrilling narrative from unscripted footage, using pacing, transitions, and B-roll to build tension and flow.
Technical Proficiency with High-Resolution & Multi-Cam Content
You’re comfortable working with large 4K/8K/360° video files, syncing multiple angles, stabilizing footage, and compressing for high-quality YouTube delivery. Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is ideal.
YouTube-First Mentality & Platform Awareness
You understand what keeps viewers engaged — compelling hooks, dynamic visuals, clean edits, and Shorts pacing. Bonus if you’ve helped grow other YouTube channels or have thumbnail/title experience.
TOOLS & EXPECTATIONS
Editing software: DaVinci Resolve (preferred), Premiere, or Final Cut
Strong communication and ability to accept feedback
Must be comfortable using Google Drive or Dropbox for large file transfers
Weekly check-ins via
Contract + NDA required prior to first project
We pay via PayPal (weekly or biweekly, negotiable)

Motion graphics or intro sequence creation
Basic thumbnail design experience
Understanding of meteorology or interest in weather is a plus!
