Third & Urban seeks a full-time accountant to manage financial aspects related to the firm’s general contractor company and real estate development company. This role is responsible for general bookkeeping, tracking project expenses, assisting in preparing monthly development draws, and assisting with administrative tasks across the portfolio. The firm’s portfolio includes a variety of product types across various stages of the development cycle.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Construction Company
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple construction projects
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting
• Track job costs and project budgets
• Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and contracts
Real Estate Development Company
• Prepare monthly debt and equity development draws including receiving/organizing/compiling invoices, cost coding invoices, and tracking/reconciling cost against budget
• Preparing monthly corporate invoices billed to each property in the portfolio
• Work with property-level accountants to ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner
• Prepare corporate reimbursables for employees
• Review of monthly financials prepared by property accountants
• Work with asset management team on adhoc projects related to reporting, cash analysis/projections, budgeting, etc.
• Preparing capital call notices for firm’s GP fund
Position Requirements
• 3+ years of experience as a bookkeeper (construction or general contracting experience preferred)
• Real estate accounting / development accounting experience is preferred
• Proficiency in Excel
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills
• Fluent in English
• Ability to work during Eastern Standard Time business hours
