We’re seeking a technically skilled and creative Web Developer who specializes in Squarespace and can optimize our website for performance, especially on mobile.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a web developer who can audit, optimize, and manage our website for speed, user experience, and responsiveness. While our main platform is Squarespace, we value flexibility and experience with other platforms as well. The ideal candidate is someone who understands site structure, responsive design, and page speed factors, especially how to boost mobile performance without sacrificing design or usability.

This is a remote, long-term opportunity for someone who’s detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ready to help us take our web performance to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

Optimize our existing Squarespace website for mobile and desktop page speed performance

Minimize load times by optimizing images, scripts, font usage, and third-party integrations

Ensure a responsive, seamless experience across all device types and screen sizes

Audit website performance and provide actionable technical improvements

Troubleshoot bugs, lagging elements, or performance bottlenecks

Build or edit pages and landing experiences with SEO and conversions in mind

Collaborate with marketing and leadership on UX improvements

Provide guidance on best practices for site speed and ongoing maintenance

Adapt and implement improvements on other CMS platforms if needed

Qualifications & Requirements

Proficient in Squarespace development (customization, integrations, performance tuning)

Deep understanding of page speed optimization, especially for mobile

Familiar with tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse

Knowledge of image compression, code minification, lazy loading, and cache strategies

Experience managing or building sites on other platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Wix, etc.) is a plus

Strong eye for detail, user experience, and mobile-first design

Comfortable working independently with clear deliverables

Bonus: Familiarity with basic SEO and real estate websites
