Full Stack Developer – Azure AI + SharePoint Integration

We’re looking for a freelance full stack developer to help us build a custom AI assistant that integrates with Microsoft Azure and SharePoint.

This is a project-based role — ideal for someone who wants a short-term gig with a clear outcome and the option to continue later.

We’re DTCE Structural Engineers, a New Zealand-based structural consultancy with 16 staff and a remote team in the Philippines. We’ve completed over 1,000 projects and store more than 10,000 documents (Word, PDF, Excel) in SharePoint.


Project Goal:
Build a working internal AI tool that:
Connects to our SharePoint and indexes historical engineering documents
Uses Azure Cognitive Search to find and rank similar past projects
Integrates Azure OpenAI (ChatGPT-style interface) to let engineers ask natural questions
Suggests project pricing, common overbudget causes, and design insights
Presents results in a simple web-based chat or dashboard

What You’ll Do:
Set up access to SharePoint using Microsoft Graph API or Power Automate
Index documents with Azure Cognitive Search
Connect to Azure OpenAI to generate useful replies based on project data
Build a simple, clean frontend for engineer interaction (chat-style or dashboard)
Document everything so we can maintain or extend it later

What We’re Looking For:
Strong experience in Microsoft Azure, including:
Azure OpenAI
Cognitive Search
SharePoint integration (Graph API or automation)
Experience as a full stack developer (React, Node.js, Python, etc.)
Bonus: Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) setups
Bonus: Frontend chatbot or AI UI experience
Strong English communication and ability to work independently

Contract Details:
Type: Project-based / freelance

Hours: Part-time (~20 hours per week)

Duration: estimate 3 months (with potential to extend or go ongoing)

Location: Ideally in office with us in Alabang, or fully remote (Philippines-based applicants only)

Pay: negotiable. depending on experience and output
