Role
We’re looking for exceptional communicators who are curious, intuitive, and quick to connect with people. This is an **inbound SDR role**—you’ll be reaching out to people who have already discovered Coast through our app, website, or a trial signup.
Your job is not to sell the product, but to **start meaningful conversations**, uncover the prospect’s real-world challenges, and determine if Coast can help. You’ll qualify the opportunity through thoughtful discovery, and **hand off high-quality leads to our Account Executives** with the insight they need to tailor the demo and win the deal.
This is a fast-paced, high-energy role that values a **consultative, people-first approach**—grounded in genuine conversation and thoughtful insight, not one-size-fits-all pitches. You’ll uncover roadblocks, challenges, and opportunities through **creative questioning and open-minded value framing**—giving the AE team multiple ways to position a solution.
**While formal sales experience is welcome, it’s not required if you bring the interpersonal traits, sound judgment, and work ethic needed to succeed.** If you’re quick to understand others, communicate with clarity, and adapt in dynamic situations, you’ll be well-positioned to thrive in this role.

**Bonus if you have:**
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or customer-facing roles
- Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce or Outreach
- Familiarity with industries like maintenance, facilities, or field operations
Note for candidates without direct SDR or sales experience:
To be successful in the interview process, you should **research the terms “CMMS” and “SDR”** beforehand and be prepared to role-play a short cold call. This may include **asking qualifying questions** and conducting **initial discovery** to better understand a potential customer's needs.
What You’ll Do:
- Reach out to inbound leads who have downloaded our app, submitted interest, or started a free trial
- Start real conversations with prospects to **listen closely, ask thoughtful questions**, and understand the challenges they’re trying to solve
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Coast and the real-world problems it’s built to address
- **Frame their pain points clearly** and outline how Coast could align with their goals
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives by handing off qualified leads **with insight, context, and multiple paths to success**
- Track your outreach and discovery efforts in Outreach and Salesforce
- Meet or exceed activity and qualified opportunity targets
