Now, we are expanding into the U.S. market and we an additional Bookkeeper to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing financial records, processing payroll, and ensuring accurate accounting for a small business based in Australia and the USA in the health and wellness space. This role requires expertise in Xero, Gusto, and WISE, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in accounting and payroll, with at least one year of experience working with small businesses in Australia and the USA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Accounting & Bookkeeping:
-Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
-Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts in Xero.
-Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
-Process invoices, payments, and expense reports efficiently.
-Ensure compliance with relevant tax and accounting regulations for Australian and US-based businesses.
*Payroll Processing:
-Process payroll accurately and timely using Gusto for US-based clients.
-Handle payroll processing and compliance for Australian businesses.
-Ensure correct tax and superannuation calculations for employees (this will be managed by a third party firm)
-Maintain employee records related to payroll and benefits.
*Financial Management & Reconciliation:
-Conduct monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
-Assist with end-of-year financial preparations and audits.
-Monitor cash flow and provide insights to business owners for better financial decision-making.
*Software & Systems Management:
-Utilise Xero for bookkeeping and financial management.
-Use Gusto for payroll processing and compliance.
-Manage international payments and transactions via WISE
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or similar)
-Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and payroll.
-At least 1 year of experience working with small businesses in Australia and the USA.
-Proficiency in Xero, Gusto, and WISE is a must.
-Strong understanding of Australian and US accounting principles and tax regulations.
-Experience managing payroll for businesses in both regions.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
MUST ALSO HAVE:
-A dedicated home office setup for a distraction-free work environment.
-Fast and reliable internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps).
-A high-performance computer capable of handling accounting software efficiently.
PAY:
Up to AUD 500 per month (based on experience) for a 5-day work week (20hours).
