Part-Time Portuguese Tutor for Couple

**Salary:** Negotiable, paid hourly.

**Employment Type:** Part-time, on an as-needed basis. Flexible hours.

**About the Role:**
We are a couple looking for a skilled and passionate Portuguese tutor to help us both learn Portuguese. We currently speak only English and would prefer a tutor who speaks at least some English to help guide us through the learning process. The ideal candidate will have native-level proficiency or C1/C2 certification in Portuguese and be able to teach in a way that accommodates our individual learning needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct one-on-one lessons in Portuguese for both of us, focusing on speaking, listening, and understanding.
- Help us both improve our vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.
- Provide tailored lessons based on our individual learning needs and goals.
- Offer constructive feedback and guidance throughout the learning process.
- Recommend resources or exercises for self-study between lessons.
- Be patient and adaptive to our learning styles, ensuring that lessons are engaging and effective for both of us.

**Qualifications:**
- Native Portuguese speaker or have a C1/C2 level in Portuguese (European Portuguese dialect preferred).
- B2 or above in English, with the ability to explain concepts in both Portuguese and English.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, encouraging teaching style.
- Ability to conduct lessons online, on Signal or Nextcloud Teams, or another agreed-upon software. Necessary meeting software will be provided.
- Technically savvy enough to use online video-conferencing software.
- Your own working computer and internet access.
- Teaching experience is a bonus but not required.

**What We Offer:**
- Flexible work schedule – lessons can be arranged based on both of our schedules. Currently, we are located in UTC-05:00 timezone, and will be moving to UTC+01:00 in a few months.
- Pay on the 1st and 15th of each month.
- Potential for long-term tutoring sessions if desired.
