Senior Shopify Website Designer

About Insiteful:

We're a Melbourne-based website design and eCommerce marketing agency that builds high-converting Shopify websites.

We’ve launched hundreds of stores using our proven internal framework. Every site is built with a focus on strong visuals, smooth functionality, and conversion-first design.

We use the Ella theme from Themeforest for most builds, and we’re looking for someone who can bring brands to life within that theme — quickly and beautifully.

Who we’re looking for:

This is not a developer role.

This is not for beginners.

We need a highly skilled website designer who knows how to make a Shopify store look incredible.

You should have an excellent eye for design — that means great fonts, smart colour choices, clean layouts, and a polished, professional feel across all pages.

This role is for someone who can take a brief and confidently build out the visual side of a Shopify site using our internal structure and tools.

What you’ll be doing:

- Designing Shopify websites using the Ella theme

- Applying our high-converting layout framework (provided)

- Selecting fonts, colours, and layouts that align with each brand

- Designing mobile and desktop views for a smooth user experience

- Working with our internal team — marketers, project managers, developers

- Using Figma for quick mockups or layout planning

- Managing 1–2 site builds at a time, delivering high-quality design on schedule

What we’re looking for:

- A strong portfolio of Shopify or other eCommerce website designs

- Confidence using Shopify and themes like Ella from Themeforest

- Deep understanding of layout, spacing, font pairing, and colour harmony

- Strong Figma skills

- Responsive design experience — mobile and desktop

- Great communication and time management

- Ability to lead the visual side of a project with minimal handholding

Bonus points for:

- Shopify Plus experience

- Familiarity with common Shopify apps and integrations

- Basic SEO knowledge from a design perspective

- Awareness of CRO best practices for eCommerce
