Software QA Tester

Full time front-end software QA testing role for Melbourne-based SaaS company.

Hours:

- Melbourne, AU based work hours (9am-5pm AEST, Monday-Friday)

Key Responsibilities

- Review and understand software requirements, user stories, and design documentation
- Design, write, and maintain detailed and reusable test cases and test plans
- Perform manual and automated testing for web-based SaaS applications
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and smoke testing
- Identify, document, and track bugs using issue tracking systems - Jira
- Validate defect fixes and perform re-testing as needed
- Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and practices
- Provide feedback on usability, user experience, and performance issues
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) where applicable

Skills & Experience

Required:

- 3+ years of experience in software testing, ideally in a SaaS environment
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience testing web applications across browsers and devices
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and bug reports
- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools - Jira
- Basic knowledge of APIs and ability to use tools like Postman for testing
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable:

- Understanding of databases and ability to query with SQL
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience testing accessibility and performance
