Job Summary:
BMC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Analyst to manage and execute our monthly research initiatives, primarily focusing on the Black Church Pulse (BCP) and other related surveys. This role is crucial in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful data to our audience and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of survey methodology, and a passion for serving the Black Christian community.
Responsibilities:
Black Church Pulse (BCP) Management:
Oversee the entire BCP process, from survey design and distribution to data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Develop and refine survey questions to accurately capture relevant insights from the Black Christian community.
Ensure timely and consistent monthly publication of BCP results.
Analyze BCP data to identify trends, patterns, and key findings.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing BCP results for various audiences.
Maintain and update the BCP database and archive.
Collaborate with the content team to create engaging and informative content based on BCP findings.
Monthly Surveys & Research:
Design and implement other monthly surveys and research projects as needed.
Utilize various research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative approaches.
Collect, clean, and analyze survey data using statistical software and tools.
Develop and maintain research databases and documentation.
Prepare and present research findings in clear and concise formats.
Interpret and explain the data and its ramifications.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Utilize statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python) to analyze survey data and generate meaningful insights.
Create visually appealing charts, graphs, and tables to present data effectively.
Develop comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the research process.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with other tea
Communicate research findings to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders, external partners, and the general public.
Stay up-to-date on current research trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in sociology, statistics, psychology, market research, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis.
Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
Proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python).
Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience with google sheets and google docs.
Experience with online survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics).
