JOB OVERVIEW

Senior Tax Accountant + Manager


Your typical month would look like this:
• Daily Morning huddles with the team
• Reviewing Tax & BAS work
• Completing Business returns and financial reports
• Tax Planning and providing insights to clients to help them manage cash flow and succeed in business
• Giving frequent constructive feedback to other tea ---------- mbers to produce quality work and meet deadlines via Teams Video Calls as first preference where possible
• Supporting junior members in scheduling their workflow
• Sending good vibes when someone did a great job and helping build team rapport through continuous check ins
• Supporting the firm in improving processes & procedures
• Building excel templates
• Monthly meetings with the CEO
• Working long or short days depending on workflow
• Working from home
• Having a laugh at the expense of one of us

Qualifications or of similar end
• Bachelor in Business and Commerce major in Accounting
• Certified Practising Accountant Certificate
Core Technical Skills
• Preparation of Financial Statements: Complete financial reporting from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Taxation Expertise: In-depth knowledge of business taxes, including GST, income tax, and FBT compliance.
• FBT Returns and Div 7A Compliance: Familiarity with handling FBT obligations and Div 7A transactions without supervision.
• Tax Planning: Proficient in identifying tax-saving opportunities and providing strategic tax advice.
• SMSF Compliance and Reporting: Expertise in managing compliance and reporting requirements for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.
• Tax Planning: Proficient in identifying tax-saving opportunities and providing comprehensive tax advice, ensuring clients are optimising their tax positions.
• Reviewing Junior Work: Capable of quality-checking and mentoring juniors' work, providing constructive feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for workflow optimisation and contribute to refining accounting and tax procedures.
System & Software Knowledge
• Xero Expertise: Proficient in Xero, with hands-on experience in bookkeeping, reporting, and tax functions within the software.

- Work commences at 8.55a ---------- lbourne time for the morning huddle
- Paid public holidays for Australian Public holidays
- 2 weeks vacation leave per annum
- 1 week of sick leave per annum
- Basic Health insurance will be reimbursed
- Computer equipment may be reimbursed after 1 year of employment
