Melody Lane Dance Music & Drama Academy is looking for a Social Media Assistant to help share our mission, engage our community, and ensure our online presence reflects the heart of our studio!

As our Social Media Assistant, you’ll play a key role in amplifying our voice, engaging with our audience, and ensuring our brand remains strong and consistent across all platforms.
Your Role
The Social Media Assistant will be responsible for creating, scheduling, posting, and tracking social media content that aligns with Melody Lane’s branding, mission, and voice. This role requires creativity, organization, and a strong understanding of digital engagement strategies.
All content must be approved before posting, and engagement will be tracked through detailed analytics and reporting. The Social Media Assistant will also monitor and actively engage with our audience, ensuring that our community feels seen, heard, and valued. Additionally, this role includes light website updates to keep our online presence current and relevant.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Branding
Create engaging, visually appealing, and on-brand social media posts using Melody Lane’s branding colors, fonts, and language.
Maintain a consistent brand voice that aligns with our mission, vision, and values.
Write compelling captions that tell the story of Melody Lane, highlight student success, and promote upcoming events and classes.
Edit and enhance photos, videos, and graphics to align with studio aesthetics.
Repurpose existing content into various formats (e.g., turning testimonials into posts, reformatting long-form videos into Reels, etc.).
Scheduling & Posting
Plan and schedule at least one post per day across all social media platforms
Ensure all posts are approved before going live and make necessary revisions based on feedback.
Stay up to date on current trends in social media, incorporating fresh ideas while staying true to Melody Lane’s identity.
Maintain a content calendar, ensuring regular posting and engagement.
Community Engagement
Monitor comments, messages, and engagement, ensuring the Melody Lane community feels seen, heard, and valued.
Actively respond to comments and messages on behalf of the studio in a way that aligns with our values of support and grace.
Engage with followers, students, and parents in a positive and meaningful way.
Tracking & Performance Analysis
Track and analyze social media engagement, reach, and growth metrics using detailed analytics.
Create and submit monthly reports detailing post performance, audience insights, and engagement trends.
Identify opportunities for improvement based on data and suggest content adjustments to increase impact.
Key Responsibilities
Website Updates
Make light updates to the website as needed (e.g., updating class schedules, event details, announcements, etc.).
Ensure website content remains fresh, relevant, and in line with our branding.
Marketing & Promotions
Assist in promoting studio events, classes, and special programs through social media campaigns.
Coordinate with the team to align posts with seasonal promotions and studio goals.
Create and manage event pages or social media-specific promotions when needed.
Qualifications
Technical Skills & Tools
Proficiency in Canva (or similar design tools) to create on-brand social media graphics.
Experience with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Later, Meta Business Suite, Planoly, etc.).
Familiarity with Google Drive, Google Calendar, and project management tools like Basecamp.
Strong understanding of Instagram,
Basic website editing skills (experience with platforms like Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace is a plus).
Basic video editing skills (using CapCut, iMovie, or similar tools) are a plus!
Creative & Organizational Skills
Ability to write engaging captions that reflect Melody Lane’s voice and mission.
Strong attention to detail to ensure brand consistency across all content.
Highly organized, with the ability to plan, schedule, and track content in advance.
Creative and trend-savvy, with an understanding of what performs well on social media.
Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies for improved performance.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to collaborate with leadership and take feedback positively.
Excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity in messaging and team updates.
A passion for the performing arts, education, or community engagement is a plus!
Schedule & Expectations
This is a part-time remote position (10-15 hours per week).
Expected to post at least one time per day across social media platforms.
All posts must be submitted for approval before publishing.
Expected to respond to messages and engage with followers within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).
Monthly performance reports must be submitted to leadership.
Will be responsible for light website updates as needed.
