Product Marketing Manager
Looking for an experienced product marketing manager who can conduct and distill user experience, to convert them into actionable insights, manage development, marketing and monetization of the website.
I only have $3,000 to make this website profitable, a third of that goes towards your management fee. So you have a $2,000 to make this website profitable. We will discuss KPI's and payment plan. You'll be paid $1,000 throughout the period of time it takes you to make it profitable, then will receive 50% monthly commission from profits once they surpass $2,000
I am looking for someone capable of complete scaling up this website, recruiting and managing multiple cross-functional teams (design, development, and marketing).
Here a few suggestions on what might help. Remember these are only suggestions, so take them with a grain of salt. You're aim is to make the website generate over $2,000/month and you will receive 50% of monthly revenue.
1. User Engagement
As a new user, I should immediately be able to understand the value proposition of the website, and how to easily use the it to my benefit. I should know how to join the referral program and what it's about, how to view posts, filter posts, share posts, follow profiles, sync my instagram media, and share the website to friends and family.
2. Using inspectlet, I noticed that users weren't very engaged after accessing campusfeed. I have been advised that a few methods to increase the engagement are
a. Adding a Social Account Filter: Here users can filter the content thereby Social Accounts. User's can also "follow' these social accounts both within our website and externally (e.g. on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc)
b. Adding a Meta Tag Filter: Here users can filter the content by meta tag.
c. Landing Page: Insert a "Select Your Campus" splash screen so as soon as users arrive at the site they know to select their campus to get the latest media.
3. Referral Program
User Story
As a User I can share a link to CampusFeed and receive 5% (50% commission of CampusFeed's 10 affiliate commission) every time my referral traffic makes a purchase (via Venmo or preferablySnapchat's Snapcash).
Business Case
The point is to use Cash (receiving monthly commissions) as incentive for new users to send more traffic to the site. In order for this to be effective, the signing up process needs to be as seamless as possible. Perhaps the user only needs to sign in with their social accounts, e.g. Linkedin, Google, (I already have social sign up with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram enabled) and their email ( I already have email signup enabled) in order for them to be automatically part of our referral program.
Some pages on the website have Ticketnetwork affiliate links for Tickets ).
Some pages of the website have affiliate links for Appare.
Functional Requirements
Referral Tracking: Perhaps contact ImpactRadius and Sharesale to find out if there is a simple way for us to track purchases and accurately reward users when someone they referred to our site makes a purchase on the affiliate site. An alternative is to do this locally.
Perhaps you might need some landing pages, display ads and good old PR to market this feature and so it goes viral.
I was speaking with a Social Media Marketing agency who have a few suggestions for what we can do within the budget of $1,200 a month. I'd be willing to spend $2,400 for two months marketing budget.
Perhaps a campaign persuading users to get their significant other a campus shirt as a valentines gift from one of our apparel pages
4. User Upload
User Story
As a User I can share post's from my Instagram account unto Campus Feed
Business Case
This may increase user engagement on the website.
Functional Requirement
Utilize instagram's api endpoint GET /users/self/media/recent Get the most recent media of the user to enable users authenticate and share their instagram media unto Campus Feed.
-Perhaps provide users with the option to have they future instagram posts automatically synced to campus feed. (It would be appropriate if Admin can first Approve or Deny these requests)
-Perhaps provide the feature mentioned above for Tumblr, Facebook,Youtube and Pinterest?
5. Hyper Local Content
User Story
As a User I can see Instagram posts that were taken around my campus.
Business Case
This assumes that by showing instagram pictures that were taken around campus, they can potentially see their roommates, friends, classmates and other people they see around campus. This will make them (other users) more empathetic with the content on the website and spending a longer time on the site.
Functional Requirement
Zoomph provides us access to instagram's api endpoint GET /locations/location-id/media/recent Get a list of media objects from a given location.
In the Zoomph admin, you would create a "feed" by clicking: Feeds Add Feed Name (e.g. Harvard University) Add from Instagram (here you would enter the school's zip code.)
(My partner Simone can create these feeds while you work with developers to embed them into the site. A feed will be made for each university)
Each feed has JSON which can be fetched and cached into our server, then rendered on the user's device along with the other content on our web page.
6. Facebook Events
User Story
As a user, I can see the public facebook events of all Facebook profile feeds on CampusFeed.com so I can attend these events share the links with my friends.
Business case
Increase User Engagement by showing hyperlocal events.
7. Widget tool
User Story
As a user I can download a CampusFeed widget like Pinterest, so that I an share media accounts from around the internet unto Campus Feed.
Business Case
By giving users the ability to share content from around the internet, they are helping to create a more engaging experience for both themselves and other users of Campus Feed.
