Shopify Web Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Shopify Web Developer to join our team and create exceptional digital experiences. The ideal candidate is an experienced frontend developer with a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and the versatility to work across the stack when needed. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing Shopify themes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful customer experiences.

Responsibilities:
- Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ensure theme customizations align with brand identity and guidelines.
- Create responsive, mobile-first designs optimized for cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Monitor and improve site performance, page speed, and Core Web Vitals.
- Implement manual and automated testing workflows to debug and resolve theme issues.
- Maintain themes to ensure compatibility with the latest Shopify updates and features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and execute backlog tasks.
- Utilize Git workflows for version control, tracking, and deploying code changes.
- Build and maintain Shopify deployment workflows using GitHub Actions and CLI tools.
- Monitor and maintain server and network health as part of shared team responsibilities.

Requirements:
- 3–5 years of frontend or full-stack development experience, with at least 1 year focused on Shopify development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in Shopify themes, Liquid (including Schema), APIs, and Shopify CLI; familiarity with Polaris Framework and app integration.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns, and browser/device compatibility; familiarity with design tools like Figma or Balsamiq is a plus.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API interaction, with knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience in performance optimization, including improving Core Web Vitals and optimizing assets.
- Hands-on experience with Git workflows and repository management.
- Proficiency in debugging using Shopify CLI, Chrome DevTools, and cross-browser testing tools.
- Familiarity with creating and managing deployment workflows using GitHub Actions.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical topics to varied audiences.
- Experience with Agile, Kanban, or similar project management methodologies.
- Adaptable and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a dynamic team environment.
