Job Summary:
The Deal Desk Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the sales team by managing, structuring, and processing sales deals. This individual will collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure deals are compliant, competitive, and aligned with company guidelines. The Deal Desk Specialist ensures that pricing, contract terms, and other aspects of the deal process are optimized for both the customer and the organization, ensuring a smooth and efficient sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Structuring & Pricing Support:
Collaborate with sales teams to structure deals, ensuring competitive pricing and discounting that aligns with business goals and pricing policies.
Proposal and Quote Creation:
Generate quotes, proposals, and contract templates based on standard pricing models and customer-specific requirements. Ensure all sales collateral is aligned with internal guidelines.
Contract Review & Compliance:
Work with the legal team to ensure contracts are accurately reviewed, approved, and compliant with company policies, as well as any regulatory or compliance standards.
Sales Process Optimization:
Provide ongoing support for the sales team by identifying process improvements, streamlining workflows, and removing obstacles to close deals faster.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Partner with Finance, Legal, Product, and other internal teams to ensure smooth deal execution and resolve any issues that arise during the deal-making process.
Sales Data & Reporting:
Track and report on key deal metrics, including discounts, deal volume, and sales pipeline status. Provide insights into trends and challenges in the deal process.
Training & Guidance:
Offer training and guidance to sales teams on pricing models, deal structures, and best practices for contract negotiations.
Escalation Management:
Handle escalations for complex or non-standard deals and negotiate with internal stakeholders as needed to ensure successful deal closure.
System and Tools Management:
Maintain and optimize tools such as CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.), CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) systems, and other deal management platforms to ensure accurate and timely deal processing.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
2-4 years of experience in sales operations, deal desk, or a related role.
Experience with CPQ systems, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and pricing models.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and executives.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deals and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Excel skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with ERP and contract management tools is a plus.
