Job Title: Bookkeeper for 3 Businesses (S&P, Spark Forward Electric, The Moose)
Location: Remote
Work Hours: At least 30 hours a week Canadian Time.
Compensation: $1000/month
Company Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable bookkeeper to manage the financial records of three businesses:
Business 1: A business with minimal transactions.
Business 2: A business with minimal to moderate transactions.
Business 3: A business with minimal transactions currently, but we anticipate a significant increase in activity once it opens.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing the books for multiple businesses, be detail-oriented, and adaptable to the varying needs of each business as they grow.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of small business accounting and tax regulations of Canada is required.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Dext, Plooto, and similar).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple entities and adapt to varying transaction volumes.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Ideal Candidate:
Someone who can prioritize and efficiently manage multiple businesses with varying transaction volumes.
Flexible and proactive, willing to adjust to increased activity for Business 3 as it grows.
Capable of offering insightful financial reports and ensuring smooth financial operations across all businesses.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records for all three businesses.
Record daily transactions (sales, expenses, etc.) for each entity.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis.
Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Generate monthly financial reports (profit and loss statements, balance sheets, etc.).
Manage payroll for employees (if applicable).
Provide guidance on tax compliance, deductions, and reporting.
Track and categorize expenses in line with each business’s needs and industry.
Create SOPs on bookkeeping processses.
Adapt processes as business activity grows, especially for Business 3, which will see an increase in transactions once it opens.
