Full-time reporter for Canadian daily newspaper chain

Beacon News, a fast growing chain of Canadian online daily newspapers, seeks an ambitious and hard working reporter.
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
1. Report on news stories in Canada assigned by the editor. The stories will be assigned from press releases and may include one or two phone interviews.
2. Rre-write press releases issued by Canadian governments, businesses, non-profits, community organizations, etc.
3. Write 500+ word blogs based on audio files provided by the editor.
Required skills/experience:
1. Journalism degree or minimum two years of related experience as a reporter/editor.
2. Excellent English writing skills
3. Intermediate to advanced Photoshop skills.
4. Excellent interview skills.

Wages will start at 10,000 to 15,000 PhP per month depending on qualifications, with regular raises thereafter.

The reporter will be expected to work from their home office, so they will require a computer and high speed Internet connection. Hours correspond to 8 am to 5 pm in the Canadian province in which they are assigned.
