JOB OVERVIEW

Scope of Work: Google Analytics and Google Ads Setup for The NIL Store

Objective:
To establish a unified Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM) & Google Ads setup for The NIL Store’s main domain and subdomains, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and advertising performance optimization. The contractor will scope, implement, and test the setup to align with the unique requirements of our multi-store environment.

Project Overview:
The NIL Store operates across:
Main Domain: The primary domain is nil.store, powered by Shopify Plus and using Hydrogen for a headless commerce setup. This domain hosts the majority of stores.
Subdomains: Original 31 stores, each operating as separate Shopify instances. These subdomains are being gradually migrated to the main nil.store domain.

The contractor will:
Set up one centralized Google Analytics account to track performance across the main domain AND subdomains.
Implement and optimize Google Tag Manager to manage tracking scripts and streamline future adjustments.
Configure Google Ads under a single account for efficiency, ensuring seamless integration with Google Analytics (set up only)
Ensure cross-domain tracking (track users as they move from nil.store to purdue.nil.store etc.)

Scope of Work
1. Discovery & Audit
Review the current setup for Google Analytics, GTM and Ads.
Analyze the structure of the main domain and subdomains.
Identify potential tracking challenges due to the multi-store setup and migration process.
Assess Hydrogen’s compatibility with Google Tag Manager and tracking scripts.
2. Google Analytics Setup
Account Creation & Configuration:
Set up a unified Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property for nil.store and subdomains.
Enable cross-domain tracking for accurate data flow between the main domain and subdomains.
Custom Tracking:
Configure event-based tracking for key actions (e.g., product views, add-to-cart, checkouts, and purchases).
Implement Enhanced Ecommerce tracking for Shopify.
Data Layer Implementation:
Verify and enhance the Hydrogen data layer for compatibility with GA4.
Reports & Dashboards:
Create customized dashboards to track key metrics across all domains and subdomains.
3. Google Ads Setup
Account Creation & Linking:
Establish a single Google Ads account for The NIL Store.
Link the Google Ads account to the GA4 property.
Conversion Tracking:
Implement conversion tracking for purchases and other critical actions.
Ensure tracking works seamlessly across the main domain and subdomains.
4. Google Tag Manager (GTM) Setup
GTM Container Configuration:
Create a Google Tag Manager container for the nil.store domain and configure additional containers for subdomains, if necessary.

Tag Implementation:
Add GTM scripts to Shopify Plus (Hydrogen) and individual subdomain stores.
Set up Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, and remarketing tags within GTM.
Custom Tags:
Configure custom tags for unique events or tracking needs (e.g., video plays, scroll tracking, or form submissions).
Trigger Setup:
Set up triggers for specific user interactions, ensuring accurate data collection without unnecessary noise.
Testing:
Use GTM’s preview mode to validate tag firing and event tracking across all domains.


5. Testing & Validation
Conduct end-to-end testing of analytics and ad tracking to ensure data accuracy.
Verify cross-domain tracking functionality.
6. Documentation & Handover
Provide detailed documentation on the setup, including:
Account configurations.
Tracking implementations.
Custom events and reports.
Instructions for maintaining the setup during the migration of subdomains to the main domain.
Conduct a 1-hour knowledge transfer session with The NIL Store team.
Deliverables
Fully configured GA4 property tracking performance across the main domain and subdomains.
Integrated Google Ads account with conversion tracking and remarketing audiences.
Google Tag Manager container(s) with all required tags and triggers.
Customized dashboards for tracking performance.
Documentation detailing the setup and maintenance instructions.
Testing and validation results.
Timeline

The project is expected to be completed within 3-4 weeks of the contract start date, broken down as follows:
Week 1: Discovery, setup of accounts, and initial configuration.
Week 2: Implementation of tracking, testing, and validation.
Week 3: Documentation and knowledge transfer.

Requirements for the Contractor:
Proven experience with GA4, Google Ads, Shopify, and headless commerce setups.
Familiarity with cross-domain tracking and multi-store environments.
Ability to meet deadlines and communicate progress regularly.
Portfolio of similar projects, with references preferred.

Budget
The budget for this project is [TBD], to be agreed upon with the contractor based on the finalized scope and deliverables.

Demonstrated expertise in GA4 and Google Ads.
Experience working with e-commerce platforms, especially Shopify and Hydrogen.
