Our certified teachers customize each student’s learning journey, using adaptive tools to track progress and empower students to advance at their own pace. Our mastery-based curriculum integrates modern media, literature, engaging projects, interdisciplinary units, and rigorous exercises to keep students motivated and excited about learning.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who thrives on coding, collaborating, and supporting a dynamic, small development team. This role is based in a flexible, semi-remote environment where your ideas and skills will directly shape a growing education platform.
As Coding Manager, you’ll spearhead the development of our new AI-Powered Curriculum Design and Student Engagement Platform for homeschools and microschools, using a modern stack that includes Next.js, Tailwind, and Supabase, powered by an AI-enabled IDE (Cursor) and following clean architecture platform.
Later, you’ll help transition our Student Information System from a no-code platform (Backendless) to this same modern stack. You’ll collaborate with our founders and key teams—such as Technical Operations, Admissions, Parent Support, HR, and Academic Leadership—to ensure evolving needs are translated into a clear and actionable technical roadmap. You’ll foster a collaborative environment, treating other departments like customers and empowering your team to feel valued and successful.
In addition to supporting the team, you’ll dive into the code daily, crafting modular, scalable, and efficient solutions while ensuring best practices like KISS and DRY.
Your sharp attention to detail will ensure we deliver high-quality, thoroughly tested features on time. Balancing hands-on coding with big-picture leadership will be key to your success in this role.
What You’ll Do
Plan the Roadmap: Collaborate with the key stakeholders to map out the technical priorities and goals of our new platform.
Hands-On Coding: Lead by example, actively coding our new platform alongside the development team—especially during tight deadlines or complex challenges.
Lead the Transition: Oversee the migration of our Student Information System from a no-code platform to a modern stack, ensuring a smooth and effective process.
Foster Collaboration: Build a friendly, solutions-focused environment where other departments feel supported and the tech team is approachable.
Requirements
Proficiency in JavaScript and React, with familiarity in Next.js, Supabase or Firebase or other PostgreSQL databases, and Git.
Experience or enthusiasm for learning to code with AI-powered tools (e.g., Cursor, V0, Windsurf, Lovable, Bolt).
Proven ability to keep projects on track using tools like GitHub, Jira, or Asana, without being overbearing.
Commitment to clean, maintainable, and readable code.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on ensuring every tea
A proactive, adaptable mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.
