Insurance Coverage Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a short-term Insurance Coverage Specialist whose primary responsibility is to make outbound calls to insurance companies to gather information about our patients’ medication coverage. This role is initially for 1-2 weeks, with the potential to expand if our needs continue and performance warrants an extension. You will work closely with our internal team, verifying coverage details to ensure our patients have accurate information about their medication costs and benefits.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Insurance Verification:
- Make outbound calls to insurance companies to confirm coverage details for specific weight loss medications.
- Obtain critical information such as eligibility, coverage limits, co-pays, and any prior authorization requirements.
- Data Collection & Documentation:
- Accurately record all coverage details and communication logs in our internal systems.
- Ensure that all relevant patient and insurance information is captured clearly and concisely.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Coordinate with internal tea ---------- mbers to relay findings from insurance calls.
- Communicate any coverage issues or discrepancies promptly for swift resolution.

Follow-Up & Issue Resolution:
- Proactively follow up with insurance companies when information is incomplete or unclear.
- Escalate complex coverage problems to the appropriate internal stakeholders.


REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health profession (Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, etc.)
- Prior experience working in prior authorization, insurance verification, or related roles, as well as a strong understanding of insurance policies, prior authorization processes, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and internal tea ---------- mbers.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work Eastern Time Zone
- Strong at-home internet access

Term & Compensation:
- $5 USD/hour
- 8 hours/day
- Starting contract for 1-2 weeks, with opportunity to expand based on performance and the company's needs
