Objectives of this role
• Prospect for family foundation grants
• Coordinate with other nonprofits to collaborate on fundraising efforts
• Assist in writing grants
• Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work
• Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
• Spot new fundraising opportunities
• Plan and help execute fundraising initiatives
• Form strong relationships with external stakeholders
• Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop

What You’ll Be Doing
1. Prospecting and Grant Research
a. You will be using Guidestar and Grantwatch to find and research grant opportunities that align with our mission. We usually apply to five or more grants a year.
b. Develop an annual grants calendar with goals for grants.
c. Implement strategies to solicit institutional funding through proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding requests.
d. Assess feasibility of proposed grant projects and alignment with the nonprofits mission

2. Grant Writing
a. Help draft, edit, and submit grant proposals (don’t worry, we’ll train you if needed).
b. Keep track of grant deadlines and follow up as needed.
c. Work with the grant and research team to ensure grants are conducted in compliance with all regulations, standards, and policies

3. Donor Outreach and Relationship Management
a. Update and maintain our donor database.
b. Send thank-you messages, emails, and updates to our supporters.
c. Research and connect with new potential donors, board members, and sponsors. Usually 2-3 emails a week.

4. Social Media and Marketing Support
a. Create and schedule posts for fundraising campaigns and to get the word out about our organization. We have a Canva subscription for creating these posts.
b. Engage with social media followers by responding to comments/messages.
c. Assist with monthly email marketing campaigns to keep supporters informed.

5. General Admin Support
a. Handle email inquiries related to fundraising.
b. Keep our fundraising activities organized and on track.
c. Help with other tasks as needed.

Who We’re Looking For
• You’re organized and detail-oriented.
• You have excellent English communication skills (primarily written).
• You’re good at researching and finding information online.
• You’re familiar with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Canva (or willing to learn).
• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.
• Most importantly, you’re eager to learn, reliable, and excited to contribute to meaningful work!
