Youtube Video Editor & Cat Lover (Remote, Freelance)

Are you a video editor with a knack for creating viral, claw-some content? Moggy Money is on a mission to make personal finance fun, feel-good, and feline-themed. We’re looking for a talented, cat-loving video editor who can turn raw footage into purr-fectly polished videos that leave viewers entertained, informed, and eager for more.

What You’ll Do:
* Transform raw footage into engaging 5–10 minute YouTube videos with transitions, graphics, and animations.
* Stay on top of editing trends to keep our videos ahead of the curve.
* Ensure all videos reflect our mission: Finance videos don’t have to be boring!

What We’re Looking For:
* Mastery of video editing software like Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
* A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating content people love to watch.
* Flexibility to meet deadlines and adjust when production timelines shift.
* A solid grasp of English and a flair for Anglo humour.
* You love cats (and are willing to sprinkle feline fun into your edits!).

General Video Guidelines:
- Retention focused
- Balance audio - make sure audio volume is consistent throughout
- Mono audio dialogue
- Remove all pauses to make the video more engaging
- Remove any additional mistakes
- Add b-roll
- Add light music where it adds value, must not be distracting or annoying for viewer
- Add text / titles / etc to key points
- Add transitions or animations where it adds value
- Zoom in/out where you think fits
- Add any funny edits you think would make the video have more personality

Trial Task:
We will choose a small number of applicants to request a trial task from.
- First 60 seconds of the edit for a video and a thumbnail.
- We will pay $20 to the applicants chosen who complete the trial task regardless of successful outcome.
- We’ll evaluate submissions based on creativity, alignment with our brand mission, and audience retention potential. Show us your creativity and flair! Feedback will be provided to all trial participants.
- We will also consider your quote in our decision.

Budget:
Our budget is up to $200 per 5-10 min Youtube video including a high CTR thumbnail. Please quote for this.
Work will be assigned on a task-by-task basis. While our current goal is to release one video per week, this may vary depending on production needs and the channel’s growth. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility and enjoys working on engaging projects as they arise. We cannot guarantee hours or future work.
