Job Summary:
The Junior to Middleweight Graphic Designer will support the visual communication and branding needs of the school trust. This role involves sharing and creating compelling designs for print, digital, and social media, working within the established brand guidelines of the trust. The designer will play an essential role in enhancing the trust’s visual identity, supporting both internal and external communication goals, and ensuring the brand is presented consistently across all media.
Key Responsibilities:
-Design and Content Creation:
Develop engaging visual content for a variety of platforms, including print materials (prospectuses, flyers, posters) and digital media (social media graphics,
Design materials that promote the trust’s initiatives, events, school programs, and key messages to the community, staff, students, and parents.
Research and stay up-to-date on design trends and best practices to ensure that our designs are innovative and effective.
-Brand Consistency and Development:
Work closely with the Senior Designer to maintain brand integrity across all projects.
Assist in evolving and adapting the visual brand to align with the trust’s goals and values while maintaining consistency.
Develop templates and graphic assets to support ongoing communication needs within the trust.
-Collaboration and Project Support:
Collaborate with various stakeholders within the trust, including marketing, administration, and school staff, to deliver design projects that meet their needs.
Manage feedback constructively, implementing revisions to designs as required.
Support in organising and managing design files, day to day admin, ensuring easy access and systematic archiving.
-Digital and Social Media Support:
Design graphics and visuals for the trust’s social media channels, supporting content strategy to engage and inform the school community.
Work on layout and graphic elements for
-Print and Production Coordination:
Prepare print-ready files, liaise with printers for proofs and external vendors to ensure high-quality production, and maintain quality control throughout.
Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Xd). Experience with setting up artwork in Canva, Microsoft software (Word, PPT).
Knowledge of layout design, color theory, typography, and basic principles of responsive design.
Familiarity with project management and workflow tools in Microsoft: Planner etc.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in graphic design, ideally within education, non-profit, or corporate settings.
A portfolio that showcases a strong understanding of branding, design principles, and versatility across print and digital formats.
Experience working with a UK-based client is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to ensure brand consistency.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively within a team.
Ability to take direction and work independently.
Organised and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Education:
A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
