Indexer for a Designs Database

Marquesa Search Systems Ltd publish Trade Marks and Designs suitably indexed to enable their clients to search by word, by image description, and by other factors e.g. Owner, Date etc.

We require a person to view images of "designs"; these vary widely from domestic equipment like brushes, cups and saucers, to cars, lighting, medical equipment etc. etc.; and to index these items according to the Vienna Coding System and to capture any wording included on the item. The Vienna codes are a three level code specifically designed to enable the significant features of the appearance of an image to be encoded. For example a brown toy bear with a red collar with green stars decorating the collar would be encoded as 3.1.14 (bears); 3.1.25 (Animals of Series 1 in costume); 21.1.25 (Other games or toys); 1.1.5 (more than three stars) ;29.1.13 (Three predominant colours).

A system is provided to assist the indexer. This presents the text and image data of the design to the indexer, provides some pre-selected Vienna codes to the user based upon the text description of the design which is provided as part of the initial design data; and provides rapid access to lists of Vienna Codes.
