Accountant

We are looking for an ideal candidate for an accounting role on a contract basis for a full-time position. The candidate should have experience with key accounting software and a strong background in Australian tax duties.

Software Skills Required:
- Handitax
- Practice Manager
- HandiLedger
- Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
- MYOB
- QuickBooks

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements and tax returns, including self-managed superannuation funds and audits.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax planning and providing general accounting and business advice.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients via phone, email, and meetings.
- Liaising with third parties such as the ATO, SRO, WorkCover, etc.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- With 2-5 years experience in Australian Accounting & Tax.
- Proficiency with software packages such as Handitax, Practice Manager, HandiLedger, Xero, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), FYI, Class Super, MYOB, and MS Office.
- Experience in preparing forecasts and budgets for review.
- Ability to prepare CGT and FBT calculations for review.
- Experience in liaising with the ATO on client matters.
- Capability to prepare client-specific reports as required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
