Pacific Press Agency is a small global copyright distribution company based in the financial district of Metro Manila, Philippines. We are looking for REMOTE NEWS PHOTO EDITOR who is proficient at creating and editing captions, keywords and media classifications, evaluate images for their overall quality, technical execution, commercial suitability, and adherence to our image acceptance standards.
This is a freelance work-from-home position using the reviewer's own equipment and based around the reviewers available schedule. Note: Applicants do not need to reside within Metro Manila area.
Responsibilities:
• Perform exceptionable and consistent image evaluations in a high volume, fast-paced, and super detail-oriented manner.
• Apply metadata standards, with light metadata editing and a keen eye for keyword and title relevance to drive accurate search engine results.
• Provide consistent, objective, efficient, concise and accurate feedback to contributors.
• Work alongside and provide editing and file transmit support for photographers at entertainment and fashion events.
• Use insightful judgment to identify, edit and select the most impactful photographs ensuring that relevant aspects of a story are covered.
• Create and edit captions for accuracy and impact.
• Prioritize image selection and transmit with consideration for the market, customers and deadlines.
• Maintain full awareness and interest in EU, U.S. and global entertainment and celebrity events, news, trends, fashions, and celebrities.
• Maintain full understanding of the global client base, expected deadlines and image preferences.
Requirements:
• Passionate enthusiasm for photography with 2+ years of photography experience, preferably as a photographer, contributor to news photo agencies, photo editor, or photo researcher.
• Must be available to work 8 hours per day (may include weekend depending on shift schedule).
• Must have high-speed wired broadband Internet access, own a PC or Mac
• Adept at photo technical evaluation and metadata evaluation, along with a basic foundation of best practices in post-production processes.
• Understanding of evolving image industry trends, styles, and commercial value.
• Comfortable and enthusiastic about making many detailed judgments repetitively.
• Highly organized, super analytical and extremely detail-oriented.
• Strong command of English; ability to read/write and participate in operations, business meetings and online conferences.
• Hands-On: You should love rolling up your sleeves and working alongside the team.
• Exceptional at achieving time-sensitive production goals while managing multiple (and competing) priorities and imminent deadlines.
• Available to edit on non-traditional shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Expertise working with industry standard image editing tools and processes.
• Experience collaborating with photographers in high-activity fast-paced environments.
