My name’s Jonathan, CEO of Cardinal Media. Cardinal Media is a UK-based internet marketing start-up. Job Specifics:
I’m looking for an incredibly skilled web designer. The sorts of things I will ask you to create are:

• Squeeze pages (examples of a squeeze page: http://www.easilygranted.com/, http://jobfitterusa.com/jobfitterusa/index.v1.php? ) – extremely simple work for someone who knows their stuff.
• Well designed single webpages (could you create sites with design elements like this?: http://lifestylealerts.co.uk/, http://www.ninjagraphicskit.com/, http://www.everydaylifestyles.com/ )
• Do the scripting (PHP/Javascript or jQuery) to add interesting features to sites

Personal Characteristics Required for Web/Graphic Designer:

1. Excellent skills in graphic design, web design and using design programs i.e. Photoshop
2. Advanced skills in HTML and CSS
3. Good skills in JavaScript and PHP
4. Advanced knowledge of Wordpress
5. Understanding of web standards and practices, browser compatibility
6. Strong problem solving skills and creativity
7. An understanding of direct marketing is a bonus (but not a requirement)
8. Speak fluent English
9. SPEED – I will need things to be turned in quickly

Additional Comments:
I don’t like change. I really want you to be my go-to source for ALL of my web design/programming, and as we grow the company, you may eventually (if you are happy to) be the leader of a team of designers. This is not going to be a one-off job for you – if you are committed to quality, you will be one of the Cardinal Media Superstars for as long as you want to be.

I really believe in rewarding people for good work, and paying BONUSES for excellent work is something I am more than happy to do. If you’re happy, I will be happy. You will make a safe, steady salary every month for as long as you keep doing brilliant work.

As a start-up, however, it is important to keep costs down at the very beginning so my budget for this first month is fairly limited. I will be happy to consider increasing your salary every month as we grow, with cash bonuses paid for awesome work. I will also present you with gifts from time to time to help you with your work and in your personal/family life. I want this relationship to work out really well for both of us.

I am also aware of the 13th month tradition and you will be paid it of course!
