Personal Injury Legal Assistant/Paralegal [*Please do not apply unless you have experience]

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE AT LEAST TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE HANDLING PERSONAL INJURY CASES FROM THE BEGINNING TO END (PRE-LITIGATION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FROM OPENING THE CASE THROUGH PREPARING THE DEMAND PACKAGE).

General Practice Law Firm is seeking a paralegal to join our firm. This position requires that the paralegal has experience with both personal injury and estate planning (preparing wills, advanced medical directives, and powers of attorney).

Responsibilities:
PERSONAL INJURY
Opening insurance claims;
Drafting and sending of legal correspondence (providers, insurance carriers, employers);
Preparing demand packages;
Requesting medical records and billing;
Preparing waiver and reduction letters;
Communication with providers and insurance carriers to verify treatment;
Assisting the attorneys in managing settlements and preparation of settlement disclosure statements.

ESTATE PLANNING (no experience required)
Prepare wills, advanced medical directives, and powers of attorney using our estate planning software.

Qualifications:

2 years of Customer Service experience;
Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe (Mycase a plus);
Excellent written and verbal communication;
Ability to demonstrate project management and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
