The Grant Writer & Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the organization’s overall fundraising and development efforts. This person will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals, maintaining relationships with donors and funding organizations, and assisting with broader development activities such as communications and public speaking. This is a fully remote position, ideal for a self-starter with strong communication skills who thrives in a virtual work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Writing and Reporting:
Research potential grant opportunities that align with Youth Champions' mission and goals.
Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
Manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle, including tracking deadlines, submitting reports, and maintaining detailed records of proposals, applications, and outcomes.
Development Support:
Assist in the creation and execution of the organization's development strategy.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors, including writing donor communications, impact reports, and thank you letters.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
Communications & Public Speaking:
Help develop clear and impactful messaging for the organization’s various audiences, including funders, donors, and partners.
Support the preparation of presentations, speeches, and public speaking engagements for virtual events, conferences, and meetings.
Represent Youth Champions in virtual meetings, conferences, and other networking events to foster new relationships and partnerships.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in grant writing and securing funds from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft persuasive narratives and convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field.
Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Comfortable speaking in front of various audiences, including donors, partners, and community members.
