Systems Administrator

The System Administrator (Storage & Backup) is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, optimization and maintenance of infrastructure systems most especially the storage and backup solutions. He/She will need to work collaboratively with other Infrastructure technical resources, Application/Development technical resources and end users.

Skill Requirements:

• Advanced experience in UNIX (Linux, Solaris) and Windows OS (Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012)

• Strong exposure to Wintel Infrastructure: Windows Server, Exchange, Office 365

• Virtualisation Technology experience VMware / HyperV

• At least 2 years’ experience in backup administration and exposure to enterprise oriented backup software such as Symantec/Veritas NetBackup or UNIX/Linux backup/archive tools

• Experience with virtual tape libraries (VTL), tape and disk based hardware

• Knowledge of supporting a tape archive rotation environment and inventory process

• Experience with offsite tape vendor interfaces and procedures

• Good understanding and storage experience in SAN, NAS, EMC, NetApp or similar

• Experience with key storage tools, methodologies and protocols including NFS, CIFS, Thin Provisioning, Virtual Provisioning, Data Migration

• Good understanding of data protection and disaster recovery practices

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a high pressure, problem-solving environment

• Willing to work in rotating shifts, on call during weekends

Good to have:

• Networking skills - exposure to Firewalls (e.g. Juniper, Checkpoint)

• Strong technical understanding of cloud services, especially AWS and Azure
