We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, high attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy of bookkeeping tasks performed by the bookkeeping team. They will conduct quality checks, provide feedback for improvements, and enter advanced bookkeeping entries. The Senior Bookkeeper will also identify inefficiencies in bookkeeping processes and implement solutions to streamline workflows and optimize productivity. They will assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting, and review payroll reports for accuracy. Additionally, the Senior Bookkeeper will train and mentor bookkeeping staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in bookkeeping practices.
Type of Position: Full-time, 40 hours per week, ideally 6am-2pm CST
Position Pay: Training for first 90 days (approx.) will be $5/hr
Once training is complete there will be an automatic increase to at least $6/hr. Additional increases are possible with evidence of advanced experience and implementing improvements out the gate.

List of Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy of bookkeeping tasks performed by bookkeepers
- Conduct quality checks and provide feedback for improvements
- Enter advanced bookkeeping entries, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, depreciation, real estate transactions, private money lending transactions, etc.
- Identify inefficiencies in bookkeeping processes and implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and optimize productivity
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting, and review payroll reports for accuracy
- Train and mentor bookkeeping staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in bookkeeping practices
- Establish standardized procedures to ensure accurate and seamless handoff of financial records
- Review financial reports and statements for management, clients, and regulatory purposes
- Assess and implement accounting software tools that facilitate efficient bookkeeping processes
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance
- Maintain data security and confidentiality in all bookkeeping activities
- Document bookkeeping procedures, guidelines, and best practices for future reference and training purposes
- Track team performance using KPI reporting, as well as analyze KPIs to identify opportunities for team improvements or additional training
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (minimum 3 years experience required)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite / Google GSuite
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
