Senior UX Designer
A UX Researcher plays a crucial role in understanding user needs, behaviours, and motivations through various research methods. They are responsible for collecting and analysing data to inform the design process, ensuring that the final product provides an optimal user experience. Job Overview:
As a UX Researcher, you will be responsible for uncovering user needs and translating these insights into actionable recommendations for our design and product teams. You will conduct research using various methodologies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and field studies. Your findings will guide the design of products that meet user needs, ensuring an intuitive, engaging, and effective user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define research goals and objectives.
- Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies, including user interviews, usability tests, surveys, focus groups, ethnographic field studies, and A/B tests.
- Develop research plans, recruit participants, and determine appropriate research methods.
- Analyse and synthesise research findings to create detailed, actionable insights.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse data using various techniques, including statistical analysis, thematic analysis, and trend identification.
- Translate complex data into clear and concise reports, presentations, and visualisations for stakeholders.
- Provide actionable recommendations that inform product design, development, and strategy.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to integrate research findings into the product development process.
- Present research findings and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Advocate for user-centred design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, research methodologies, and best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and refine research processes and tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience and product usability through ongoing research.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in UX research or a related role.
- Proven experience conducting and analysing both qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in research tools such as UserTesting & Hotjar
- Familiarity with data analysis software such as SPSS, R, or Excel.
- Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Empathy and a deep understanding of user-centred design principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with remote research and testing methods.
- Experience in a specific domain (e.g., e-commerce, design etc.) that aligns with the company’s industry.
