Main Duties and Competencies
• Estimate project costs, review material take-offs, and schedule proposals.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring favourable contracts during bidding process for accurate cost estimation.
• Provide support throughout all project’s phases, including pre-tender, post-contract, operational and close-out stages
• Prepare and manage contract documents, quantify project components, take-off measurements and oversee cost estimation and management.
• Develop innovative solutions to challenges, preparing and modifying drawings, mark-ups, specifications, and calculations during the proposal phase.
• Ensure design compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Conduct risk analysis and manage risks during proposal cost preparation.
• Perform additional quantity surveying duties as assigned, collaborating with the existing QS team.
Requirements
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design, focusing on groundworks, construction engineering, and other civil works.
• Diploma in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, demonstrating professionalism and integrity.
• Committed to meeting deadlines and delivering work packages promptly.
• Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with the ability to work independently and effectively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Capable of working in a diverse team, including mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, and surveying disciplines.
• Advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, including Project, and similar desktop software.
• Experienced in major drafting and design software, such as AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical (M&E) design is preferred.
• Strong organizational abilities, technical competence, and keen attention to detail.
