Operations Manager - CNC Laser Cutting Facility

We are seeking an experienced leader to help establish an offshore operations centre for our sheet metal laser cutting and fabrication facility located in Australia. As you will work closely with the team in Australia and Australian-based clients a strong command of English is required; experience with Aussie accents is a bonus.

As the first employee into this business unit you will need resilience, initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently.

The successful candidate will have technical experience in handling and manipulating CAD drawings and understand the fundamentals of sheet metal fabrication and CNC machines. This knowledge is essential to making efficient production planning decisions.

Duties include:
- Processing inbound requests for quotation using our bespoke, proprietary web-based software and communicating with clients.
- Manipulating 2D and 3D CAD drawings (separating individual parts, identifying different layers, marking folding lines, etching requirements etc) within the quote software to generate accurate prices.
- Clarifying technical information with the team in Australia and directly with clients, and conveying and revising quotations as needed.
- Organising confirmed orders into a production system.
- Making assessments of current orders, their due dates, and material requirements to efficiently sequence production.
- Setup production sprints by loading CAD files into nesting and production software, so the team in Australia can execute and despatch efficiently.
- Make recommendations of sheet metal material purchase requirements based on current production schedule.

This position will largely be required during Philippine standard work hours, but as this position is new we may need to adjust start/end times for operational requirements in consultation with the successful candidate.

This position is fully remote, and you will need to provide your own PC and stable, fast internet connection. We will provide all required software to operate.
