Character makes transforming your home seamless, accessible and fun with our line-up of tools & tool sets, toolboxes & tool storage and project kits for popular home improvement projects. Character kits for projects like picture hanging and faucet install combine supplies with how-to videos and access to our team of experts via text so customers can get help when they need it. Launched in 2022, Character products are available DTC at ---------- and in hundreds of brick & mortar retail stores across the US.

The role:
As Retail Sales Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in expanding Character’s retail footprint by finding exciting new retail stores and inviting them to stock Character products in their stores. You’ll support the sales process by answering retailer questions, writing orders and ensuring that our warehouse team processes orders in a timely manner.

Core responsibilities:

Retail store sales
- Find high potential independent hardware stores and other independent retailers for Character’s product line
Maintain database of retailer leads
- Contact selected retailers to introduce Character brand and share current product line
- Follow-up with existing retailer customers about placing reorders
- Write orders for retailers and send to Character warehouse team for processing and fulfillment

Strategic investor introductions
- Identify potential strategic angel investors on LinkedIn and other sources
- Contact selected investors and invite them to schedule a call with company founder to learn more about the business / investment opportunity

Preferred experience:

- Prior experience supporting new customer sales for a consumer products business
- Outbound sales experience using email and LinkedIn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to operate independently
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to communicate appropriately with potential retail partners, investors and others via email
- Able to work all or partially during US daytime hours (10am ET - 11pm ET) when customers will prefer to be contacted
