Part-Time Financial Controller

eTourism is a digital marketing company dedicated to helping hotels and resorts increase their online bookings through their websites. We are a small, dynamic business looking for a skilled Financial Controller to join our team on a part-time basis.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial activities, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation requirements and managing our financial operations efficiently. The role involves supervising our existing bookkeeper, who works 15 hours per week, and providing backup support as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple businesses and providing strategic financial advice to support growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the bookkeeper's activities and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations.
- Setup and Manage budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial reporting.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to support business decisions.
- Handle customer interactions related to financial matters when required.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks as a backup and ensure smooth financial operations.
- Manage financial operations across multiple businesses.
- Provide strategic financial advice to support business growth and sustainability.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in financial management and controlling, specifically within Australian businesses.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax code and regulations.
- Proven experience with budgeting, profit and loss statements, and financial reporting.
- Strong bookkeeping skills and the ability to oversee bookkeeping activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing financial operations across multiple businesses.
- Ability to provide strategic financial advice.
- Experience with Xero financial accounting system preferred.
